H20 v. HzO

Electronics have helped us out countless times. Whether it be a smartphone, tablet or laptop, users have held onto these devices as though they were priceless gems. The main threat to these devices: Water.

Admit it, we’ve all been there. We’re in the bathroom snapping that new picture of your haircut and your camera takes a little dive into the toilet, or maybe you’re washing the dishes while talking on the phone, and down it goes completely submerged in a mixture of last night’s dinner and dishwater. The lucky ones can be saved when acted upon quickly and thrown into a bag of rice. Mostly, though, they’re a lost cause, doomed to spend eternity in a landfill.

There’s nothing worse than losing your favorite gadget to water. Luckily, the company HzO has come up with technology to solve this issue. Using an invisible vapor coating, the substance is said to cover every nook and cranny of the electronics inside and outside of your favorite device protecting it from water.

HzO plans to work with device companies like Samsung and Apple to coat your devices before they reach your hands so you can rest easy knowing your phone or computer is completely waterproof. My question is why this hasn’t been invented sooner. That could have definitely saved my Blackberry Curve four years ago!

A little bit more about the process and chemicals used can be seen at the website here.
